On October 24, 2009, approximately 23,000 people in 32 countries danced Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at the same time, breaking the record for the largest simultaneous Thriller dance with the Record Holders Republic. In honor of the 26th anniversary of the songs release, Thrill The World raised over $85,000 for over 80 charities and non-profit groups.
Last year, the record was 4,179 Zombies doing the Thriller. What a HUGE difference!!!
My family and I met up with our friends Holly, John and Trina in Seattle’s Occidental Park to do a fun, creepy, Zombie photoshoot. Since my kids were all dressed up and zombified, we just had to include them in on the shoot. Arianna was SUPER pumped about taking photos. Asa, on the other hand, was a little weirded out by the whole thing, so he and daddy went off on their own while Arianna and I went out an mingled throughout the city.
Zombies rarely get out and about they city, so we decided to wander around Pioneer Square to let them experience all that Seattle has to offer the Living Dead.
We ran into Holly’s Dad while we were there….poor man never suspected the end was near….
There were many of the living meandering about the city. They really should be more careful when there are hungry zombies roaming around….
Since Zombies rarely get to have any fun, we went and did what EVERYONE in Seattle does…we got coffee!
Of course, we had to play a game of Zombie Chess. I mean, what ELSE would Zombies do when roaming about the city?
We admired some art….
…but then quickly got distracted by some humans innocently enjoying a walk.
Since they weren’t quite quick enough (or smart enough) to catch those humans, they decided to go after Sam. Poor Sam…..

Asa got hungry and needed a snack….
I guess Daddy wasn’t enough, so they came after me, next!
Arianna got to make another Zombie Friend.
She then proceeded to scare an actual Wedding Party half to death. Poor bridesmaids!
We found another Zombie Cheerleader!
We just couldn’t keep this girl sated…she even started going after innocent animals! I wonder if dog brains are as tasty as human brains?
She got to meet Michael Jackson, but I don’t think she made a very good impression when she tried to eat him……
She was very excited to find a bucket of brains.
After our shoot, it was time to dance the Thriller! Arianna really wanted to join the dance, but I told her no since she didn’t actually know the moves.

Next year on Sunday, October 24, 2010, she plans to be ready to do the dance to help break the world record once again!
Go HERE to see the photos and my blog of the actual dance.
Oh, and a funny side note, Tootsie_Plunkette sent me this shot she got of me taking a photo at the event:
Here’s the photo I was taking…can you see her on the right hand side over by the Subway sign? I love metaphotos! (pictures of a picture being taken.)

Thanks Holly, John, and Trina for being WONDERFUL photo subjects. You guys are AWESOME!
Hope to see you all there next year!!!!!!
Oh, and….BBRRAIIIINNNNSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Asa & Arianna make great looking Zoombies!
