Well, a few weeks ago, we went on another (and according to Sam, our LAST) camping trip. This time we went with our good friends Lacey and Brandon, and Season and Jayson. We went up to the White River Campground on Mt. Rainier. It was SO BEAUTIFUL up there! You can tell by the maps that we were out in the middle of nowhere, which is how we like it!
Our first night there, Lacey and I went and got some night shots of the mountain. I’ve never really gotten around to doing many night shots. This was really had to do because you need to leave your camera’s shutter open for a long time (13 seconds for these shots) but when you do that, ANY movement of your camera will cause the picture to be blurry. Usually in this case one would use a tripod to steady their camera. Well, I was a total ditz and left my tripod at home. I got very crafty and balanced my camera on a rock and steadied it with a nice, soft pile of moss. Totally worth it!

If you look really hard at the top left on the mountain, you will see a little light. Those are hikers climbing Mount Rainier. Awesome!

The next day, I took the kids to a nice little stream to play in the water.
A deer wondered into our campsite…apparently something smelled tasty because she kept licking her chops!

This is Peter, Season and Jayson’s dog. Isn’t he the most adorable thing ever????

Us girls then took the kiddos down to the river to play. It was SO PRETTY down there!

As usual on our camping trips, my kids got totally and completely dirty!!!

Sunday morning, I took the kids to the Jr. Ranger Program. A really awesome Park Ranger named Marnie came and taught us about Glaciers, National Parks, and showed us all of the different hats that different Park Rangers get to wear. She even let the kiddos try on the hats!

Now the kids are Jr. Park Rangers!!!

As much as I love camping, I have a feeling we are done with it for this summer. We’ll see if I can talk Sam into one more trip, but I doubt it! Good thing we’ve had such fun trips the last few times we’ve gone!
We had such a good time with you guys! I hope Sam can muster up the will to go again next summer. I'm so glad the night shot turned out so beautiful. Totally worth the twigs in the hair and mosquito bites. : )
Ummm… this is kind of scary. I know we've been over this before but Asa is a CLONE of Sam and Arianna a CLONE of YOU!! It is like looking at you guys as little ones in these pics!! Which are great btw!
lol
